What is the mode of transportation to the farms?
Field Trip uses 20-25 passenger mini-coaches for a majority of the trips. These buses have large comfortable seats with plenty of leg and head room.
For groups over 20 we use regular school buses.

How far away are the farms?
Most Field Trip destinations are within an hour and a half of Toronto. Each trip is unique and the travel times are listed for each one. Depending on the day of the week travel times can vary due to traffic and construction. We do our best to limit the time spent on the bus but please know that this is not always under our control.

What should I bring on my Field Trip?
Suitable clothes for the weather (sun hat, rain gear, sunscreen)
Shoes or boots you can get muddy
Plenty of water
Bags to carry your fruit and vegetables home + cash
Camera
Snacks

What happens if it rains?
Field Trips run rain or shine. Please be sure to dress for the weather and bring an umbrella or raincoat if there is a chance of rain.

Why do the prices vary for the different trips?
Prices are based on distance (bus rental), number of farms visited (ticket price includes a donation to each farm visited) and trip content (the winery tour includes tastings at each farm)

What can I expect on a Field Trip?
While each trip is unique due to the destination and the people on the bus you can expect the following on a Field Trip:
Education about nutrition, the local food movement and sustainable farming
An in-depth tour of a local farm – we get right in the fields, barns
A delicious and nutritious lunch made from in-season products from the farm
A copy of the Field Trip 'local foodie' info guide + recipes
An opportunity to buy fresh farm products
Safe transportation to and fro

What can I expect for lunch?
Lunches consist of in-season products from the farm you are visiting. Menus will vary but promise to be fresh and delicious. There will always be a vegetarian option. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate diet restrictions or food allergies.

Will farm products be available for sale?
Yes, every farm will make their farm products available for sale at the end of the tour. Depending on the farm this could include produce, fruit, preserves, meat, eggs, dairy and crafts.

How do I book a Field Trip for a private group?
We can arrange Field Trips outside of the regular schedule and are happy to do so. The availability is dependant on the day of the week and what farm you would like to visit. Contact us at info@fieldtriptoronto.ca for more details.

What is the cancellation policy?
Your credit card will be fully charged upon your booking. Cancellations received one week (7 days) before the departure date will be refunded less a $15 administration fee. Unfortunately cancellations received within 6 days of the departure date cannot be refunded.

Do you have a kids rate?
Yes, children 12 years old and under travel on Field Trips (except July 17) for $59.00. We do request a minimum 1:2 ratio for adults to children on the trips.

Do you have a group or family rate?
Yes, if you have a group or a family of 4+ we can arrange a cheaper rate for you. Just e-mail us at info@fieldtriptoronto.ca or call 416-371-3471.
